摘要
Based on language attrition theory, the study investigates 30 Chinese senior English majors for the purpose of examining their listening attrition after the termination of formal listening training for 20 months. A listening test of the CET-6 and interviews are employed in this research to measure subject's attrition and SPSS 19.0 is used for data analysis. The results show that listening attrition does exist among senior English majors, and most of them have not reached the critical threshold yet. In addition, the Inverse Hypothesis is disapproved in the present research. Based on the findings, the author presents some pedagogical implications for both EFL learners and teachers.
