摘要
Following cardiopulmonary arrest and successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), survival may be improved if the medical professional recognizes and responds to the cause of arrest, avoids the complications associated with CPR, and is familiar with the iatrogenic causes of the postresuscitation syndrome. Monitoring and support of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems may be required for several days to ensure continued survival of the postarrest patient.
