摘要：
This paper aims to present the Hegelian exposure of the perception as it is featured in the second chapter of the Phenomenology of Spirit. To do so, following the structure and the development of the actual text, for introductory purposes, there is a brief analysis of the passage of sense-certainty to perception to, then, outline the Hegelian characterization of the thing as an object to be truly grasped by perception and the process of the experiences of consciousness in the attempt to grasp the truth of the thing and the contradictions inherent to it. Finally, it is shown how recognition of the manifested shortcomings drives the change to a more complex shape of consciousness, namely, the understanding.
