Flexible, Ultra-Light, and 3D Designed White-Light-Emitting Nanofiber Aerogel

摘要
White light could be achieved by controlling the energy transfer (ET) of different fluorescent molecules in the donor-acceptor system. However, it is still a huge challenge to inhibit the excessive ET efficiency and achieve a wide range of white-light-emitting (WLE) spectrum. In this study, the authors develop a simple and efficient method to prepare a fluorescent nanofiber aerogel (NFA). The 3D nanofiber network is conducive to the uniform dispersion of fluorescent molecules and can effectively inhibit the excessive ET between donor and acceptor. By simply adjusting the mass ratios of blue and orange fluorescent nanofibers in the NFA to 3:2, a uniform white light (0.322,0.305) that covered the entire visible region is obtained. This WLE-NFA has an ultra-light volume density of 6.47 mg cm(-3) and its quantum yield is up to 27%. In addition, the fluorescent NFA can also be processed into different 3D shapes and integrated luminous patterns through various designs of the freezing mold. This brand-new fluorescent NFA can overcome the poor plasticity of traditional fluorescent nanofiber films, which is expected to provide a new thought for developing next-generation flexible WLE materials.
