More Evidence for Motor Cortex Stimulation in Patients with chronic neuropathic Pain

An vielen Zentren wird bei Betroffenen mit refraktarem chronischem neuropathischem Schmerz die invasive Motorkortex-Stimulation (MCS) eingesetzt, obwohl die Wirksamkeit dieser Ma ss nahme nicht eindeutig belegt ist. Um mehr Evidenz fur diese Therapie zu sammeln, fuhrte eine Gruppe um Clement Hamani von der Abteilung fur funktionelle Neurochirurgie der Universitat von SAo Paulo, Brasilien, eine randomisiert-kontrollierte Studie durch.
