The process of adopting Green IT needs more attention and awareness to implement well in the organization. However, there are limited studies discusses details in Malaysia context. The importance of this study is to investigate how far Malaysia public organization adopting Green IT compares to a private company and whether public organization Malaysia could implement as well as a private company. Thus, this study brings us to identify how far the organization adopting Green IT in their company. To identify the adoption level in the organization, the study emphasizes on four processes: plan, design, implementation and measure phases. Therefore, this study applies a qualitative method, with interviewing 23 respondents from the public sector (KeTTHA, MAMPU and GreenTech) and two private IT manufacturing companies. The results show that Malaysia companies performing Green IT adoption in those three areas: asset management, energy efficiency and green practices. Thus, the results potentially can guide public organization (particularly) to evaluate and improvise the Green IT implementation.
