Industrial water demand:: The case of the sugar mills

In this work, a methodology is introduced to determine the,industrial water demand and applied for the special case of sugar industry in Mexico. The advantage of this methodology as compared with others lies in the fact that the author has started from a model of a somewhat unconventional economic behavior, with a view to avoiding ad-hoc variables. The author look advantage of the information in industry, to develop the model result indicate that the national water commission's rate and volume assignment procedures are inefficient.
