摘要：

The electromagnetic scattering of modes propagating inside a parallel-plate waveguide by cylindrical posts of various cross sections is studied. Exact solutions are obtained for metallic posts of the circular and elliptical cross sections, and their respective numerical results are displayed and discussed.
