摘要：

A cold thyroid nodule was detected in a diffusely enlarged gland in a patient undergoing thyroid uptake and scan for suspected Graves' disease. Fine-needle biopsy of the nodule suggested neoplasm. Subsequent surgery confirmed the diagnosis of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid. The patient was treated successfully for both Graves' disease and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid with total thyroidectomy.
