摘要
A nonlinear dynamic vibration absorber, called tuned particle damper, is presented on the basis of the characteristics of dynamic vibration absorbing technology and particle damping technology. A vibro-fluidized model of the tuned particle damper is established to analyze the dynamic characteristics of this highly nonlinear granular system when particles become fluidized. Two critical parameters are employed to describe the damping performance of the tuned particle damper, i.e., the equivalent viscous damping ratio zeta(eq) and the dimensionless acceleration of vibration Gamma. The influence of these parameters on the damping effect of the tuned particle damper is investigated by a series of theoretical analyses and numerical simulations. On the basis of these, a new concept of "cross-section ratio" is first proposed to study the damping performance of the tuned particle damper.
