Partnerships that work, is a concept adopted and successfully implemented by many American and International organizations. The Ohio work force development educators, under the direction of the Ohio Department of Education, Adult Workforce Development Division, developed a program based on this concept and successfully translated into the operations of educational service providers. Working with persons knowledgeable in the implementation of quality management systems, these Ohio educators undertook a training program to develop a process for quality management system implementation within their respective schools. As a basis for their program, the participants elected to use the ANSFISO/Zl.11 Guideline for the educational process. After 18 months of preparation, the participants began the quality management systems implementation process with and their respective schools. This paper will describe how the participants went about the registration process, lessons learned and the benefits to their respective activities. The presentation will outline the history of the Ohio Adult Workforce Development involvement in ISO 9000, the quality management systems methods the educators used to complete their mission, and how they provide programs that meet or exceed the requirements of their customers, their commitment to customer (student, stakeholder, community) satisfaction and focus on continuing improvement.
