摘要：

This paper takes into discussion the relationship between organizational culture and strategic planning with the purpose of generating change within the organization. It starts by looking from conceptual point of view at the steps in the strategic planning process and a number of typologies of organizational cultures. The concepts are applied to an institutional case study from the higher education sector. The paper concludes with a number of recommendations for the management of change within the studied organization, considering the influence of organizational cultures on strategic management.
