摘要
Simple salt metathesis reactions from aqueous solutions of soluble precursor salts-Na3VO4 and LnX(3) (Ln = Y, La, Ce, Nd, Gd, Dy; X = Cl, NO3, CH3CO2) afford anhydrous yttrium and rare earth orthovanadates. The morphology of the resulting orthovanadates may be modified through variation of the crystallization configuration (test tube vs. u-tube), medium (aqueous, nonaqueous, gel), and reaction conditions (inclusion of chelating agents).
