Another Nelson Touch: A Leader/Follower Synergy

Nelson called his battle plan for the Battle of Trafalgar "The Nelson Touch." Bold and audacious-like Nelson himself-it relied on another "Nelson Touch" for the officers and men of the British fleet to win the day-his way of creating a powerful synergy between leaders and followers that the French could not hope to overcome. Nelson intuitively understood the importance of both leadership and followership. While he was a brilliant leader who could inspire his followers as only very few can and exceedingly few can emulate Nelson's special traits, many can learn to emulate his behaviors.
