Formation of nanoscale icosahedral quasicrystals and glass-forming ability in Zr-Nb-Ni-Cu-Al metallic glasses

摘要
The result of adding Nb to ZrNiCuAl metallic glasses including nanoquasicrystals formation upon constant rate of heating is analyzed. The glass-forming ability from the reduced temperature is discussed. The alloys are prepared by arc-melting nominal amounts of high purity (4N) elements under an argon atmosphere.
