摘要
This article analyses the legal construction of work in contemporary America by focusing on the ever-narrowing statutory definition of the legal concept of "employee". Through a study of the cases NLRB v. Health Care, (1994), and St Joseph News Press, (2005) this article shows how the concepts of "independent contractor" and "supervisor" are used in labor law to deconstruct the wage relationship and thus create a "post-industrial society".
