摘要：

We describe our experiences teaching nanoscale science and technology to students at various levels in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Faculty members from different departments were involved in this project. Teaching was done in a top down manner where faculty and students taught at different levels based on their training. We observed our approach was efficient and students performed better. This vertical integration was adopted because nanotechnology encompasses, yet is different, for all curricula, and thus cannot be easily compartmentalized and taught like a traditional subject. We also observed that hands-on learning greatly facilitated students grasp the fundamentals of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
