摘要
Gender is involved in both characteristic presentations of multiple sclerosis (MS): the young woman of childbearing age who has episodic neurologic dysfunction and the older man who has progressive myelopathy. MS is a prototype for neurologic disease which benefits from a gender-based approach, because sex influences virtually every aspect of the disorder. This article reviews the multifaceted impact of gender and sex on MS.
