摘要
In distributed and parallel computing, balancing and scheduling of load is of paramount importance because they help accomplishing the objective of optimizing load on nodes connected in a cluster configuration of heterogeneous network. The need is to cater for dynamic adaptability, autonomous execution, mobility and a degree-of-flexibility especially for application with intermittent connections. Introducing technology of mobile agents has vitally reduced number of internode communication in distributed scenario ensuring that no machine is idle while there are jobs waiting for resources. The main motto of this research work is to introduce the mobile agent technology as an alternate way to attain load balancing and load scheduling in distributed systems. The load balancing protocol implemented in this paper makes use of Java complaint mobile agent platform called AgletsTM. This is IBM's mobile agent platform that allows developing and executing mobile agents. Mobile agents roam among nodes the load information on basis of this sorted result in coming load can be transferred using Single System Image (SSI). Kerrighed is used as SSI in this paper that deals with load scheduling and load balancing. Kerrighed enables resource sharing concept keeping the transparency in cluster among various host.
