摘要
Researchers in Social Sciences and Humanities traditionally question the possibility of bibliometric analysis in social sciences and humanities conducted in international databases of publications and citations. The key arguments of this approach are relatively small proportion of articles in social sciences and humanities indexed (compared with all indexed papers) and limitations of "classic" citation based metrics. However, the results of the analysis of Russian researchers' publications in 2013-2018, indexed in Scopus, demonstrate increase in the number of publications in social sciences and humanity subject areas in comparison with the overall growth in the number of Russian publications in Scopus. Significant contribution to this advanced growth is made not only by increased number of Russian journals in social sciences and humanities indexed in Scopus, but also by new authors and expansion of international journals' repertoire in which the Russian researchers published their works in the fields of social sciences and humanities. The journals' repertoire has been expanded, however, mainly by the number of journals with low citation level (Q4 CiteScore). Patterns of international and national collaboration in Russian publications in social sciences and humanities differ from those for natural sciences and are characterized by the predominance of national and mono-institutional collaborations. The authors used Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) indicator to assess the level of citation in social sciences and humanities categories and subcategories (according to ASJC classification), taking into account citation specifics in social sciences and humanities.
