摘要
A coplanar waveguide fed antenna with compact size is proposed for ultra-wideband applications. The size of the proposed antenna is 27x21x1.6 mm(3) (LxWxh) and it consists of a U-shaped stub with small rectangular slots embedded all over the stub. Radiation pattern and return loss exhibited by the antenna is good. The measured impedance bandwidth provided is 7.9 GHz (3.6-11.5 GHz) with two resonant frequencies of 7. 33 GHz and 9.05 GHz. The antenna is printed on the low-cost FR4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and thickness of 1.6mm. The antenna provides a maximum gain of 6.64 dB and bandwidth from 2.8GHz to 11.6GHz. The analysis is done by varying every dimension of the antenna using the CST Microwave Studio.
