摘要
This paper presents the use of frequency response functions (FRFs) to detect cracks in structures using vibration signals under in-situ conditions in a metallic structure. Two methods are applied and compared: Damage Location Vector (DLV) and Maia FRF Curvature Difference (MFCD). Results have shown that both methods of damage detection can be used for crack detection. MFCD method requires only FRFs but is restricted to beams, DLV, being developed from first principles, can be applied to any general structure but requires the dynamic stiffness matrix.
