Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of a zinc(II) complex with nitronyl nitroxide radical

摘要
A new mononuclear diamagnetic metal zinc compound [Zn(NITpPY)(4)(N-3)(2)] (NITpPy = 2-(p-pyridyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) has been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure of this compound was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P (I) over bar with the Zn-II ion octahedrally coordinated and bound to, four radical ligands through the nitrogen atoms of the pyridine rings, and the azido groups occupy the apical positions. The compound exhibits weak intermolecular antiferromagnetic interaction between the radicals, in which the diamagnetic zinc(II) plays the role of bridge.
