Investigations of Physical Processes Going During the Generation of a Shock Sound Wave in Gas-Generator Stations

摘要
A study was made of the physical processes taking place during the generation of a shock wave at the outlet of a nozzle of a gas-generator station, when emitted into the atmosphere at a supersonic velocity of the gas mixture formed in the chamber during the combustion of gas. The investigation of the spectral characteristics of an exciting shock sound wave was made as well as the corresponding computations of the height of the wave propagation dependences. The dependences of the intensities of obtained sound waves on the frequency were computed. The intensity levels of the action of sound waves on the clouds depending on the height of their location were determined. The obtained values of the surface energy densities of the excited sound waves at the heights of 500 m, 750 m, and 1000 m are equal to 0.258 J/m(2), 0.115 J/m(2), 0.064 J/m(2), respectively, from which it follows that the influence of these waves on the hail clouds can be noticeable only at the altitudes of the order of 500 m.
