摘要
Epithermal ore deposits of the Deseado Massif, southern Patagonia Argentina, represent a widespread assemblage of gold-silver mineralization. They show a strong spatial relationship with an extensive Jurassic rhyolithic volcanism that covers approximately 30,000 square kilometers. The principal mineralization is the world class Cerro Vanguardia deposit. The main ore deposits and prospects have a marked regional tendency to group in several clusters identified as I, II, III and IV. Most of the epithermal deposits are composed of veins, veinlets, breccias and stockworks with predominant NW and minor NE and E-W strikes. Three main genetic model types of hydrothermal deposits occurred in the Deseado Massif: a) vein type, b) volcano-hosted type, and c) peribatholitic-epithermal type (Pb-Zn-ln-Cu-Sn-W-Bi and Ag>Au).
