Effective Linearization of Millimeter-Wave Power Amplifiers Using LUT-Based Digital Predistortion (DPD)

摘要
In this paper, we present an effective Digital Pre-Distortion algorithm (DPD) and successfully linearized three millimeter-wave (mm-Wave) power amplifiers (PAs). The DPD algorithm computes look-up tables (LUT) to estimate the PA co-efficients to pre-distort the input signal. All PAs of various gain and P-OUT after DPD have achieved Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) improvement of around 13 dB to - 50 dBc at 24 GHz, and with Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) reduction of about 1.5% to 5.5%. The LUT DPD algorithm works well for 256 QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) LTE (Long Term Evolution) modulated input signal with a bandwidth of 20 MHz, and a peak-to-average-power-ratio (PAPR) of 8.7 dB.
