摘要
The current study presents a short review concerning the problem of VOCs emissions from vehicles and vehicle-related use of fuels, and the methods of their removal, with particular focus on methods involving physical adsorption. The isotherms of argon (77.5 K) and benzene vapours (298K) adsorbed on microporous activated carbon (Norit) were analyzed on the basis of Dubinin-Polanyi theory of adsorption. The porous characteristics (volume values of micropores, characteristic adsorption energy, and mean width of micropores filled with each adsorbate), were evaluated. It was shown that in the case of benzene adsorption, it is possible to predict both the equilibrium isotherms and the thermodynamic parameter (Q(st)) in a wide range of temperatures and relative pressures using the characteristic curve.
