Overcoming the Shortfall of Resources for the Growth of Malaysian University Start-Up Companies

摘要
Increasingly, university spin-off companies are experiencing superior performance however the overwhelming growth is depending on the adequate resources provided by the firm. Many firms failed to sustain in long term due to their resistance to create competitiveness within limited resources. This article explores the coordination of resources in determining the growth of the firm. Analysis from Resource Based View informs the development of the model to overcome the shortfall of the resources. This feasibility study is intent to measure the relationship between transnational social capital, knowledge management capabilities and business model design on the growth of the students 'start-up companies in Malaysia. Following the validation process, content and face validity, reliability and the data normality were examined based on expert assessment using the IBM Statistic SPSS software version 20.0. The findings drawn from 50 respondents indicate that the scales are reliable and the data for this study indicated evidence of rational normality.
