摘要
Plastics have become an indispensable part of our everyday life. As a ubiquitous material, they are found in nearly every item, electronic devices, furniture, clothing, vehicles, etc. The pressing issue is that they can take up to 450 to even 1000 years to degrade - making them non-renewable sources. Historically, the industrial revolution of plastic begun during World War II. Their versatile nature made them a primordial resource during this era. Nowadays, plastics have become an overwhelming topic. When the word plastic is brought up, people usually think of recycling or pollution. Therefore, it is important to find a solution to this plastic infestation. The following is a compilation of historical facts, health and environmental studies, and potential solutions to the growing concern at hand. All in all, there is only one planet made for humans, and its preservation is of top priority until a better one comes along.
