Degradation of irrigated soils

Irrigation-induced negative transformations of main soil properties are considered on the basis of literature data and experimental results. Criteria and parameters are proposed to define the normal and unfavorable status of the plow layer of irrigated soils. They form the background for the integrated assessment of soil degradation over steppe and forest-steppe zones.
