Ductile to brittle transition of pure Al sheet constrained by strength mismatched parallel bi-interface

摘要
The ductile-brittle transition of pure Al sheet, sandwiched by 2024 Al alloy through explosive cladding, was investigated at decreasing thicknesses through experimental and numerical methods. The results showed that this transition resulted from confined plastic deformation and consequent high triaxial tensile stress in the Al interlayer. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc.
