摘要：

The stigma of mental illness places a considerable burden on those affected. Patients suffer from both public stigma and self-stigma. These different manifestations of stigma demand different interventions. This special issue presents recent findings on interventions targeting public stigma and on mechanisms of self-stigma and stigma-coping. We discuss starting points for psychotherapeutic interventions to reduce the burden of stigma.
