摘要
Space exploration and spacesuit design have long been a source of inspiration for the art and fashion communities ever since the space race between the Soviet Union and the US from the late 1950s. Many designers have been influenced in many aspects of the installation, painting and music arts referencing to space, the galaxy and the universe with the fantasy of their contents. Besides, exemplified by the space exploration paradigm, the masterpieces of Chinese embroideries and the worldwide tours of the Moon, Earth and Mars models of the UK artist L. Jerram are renowned. For 60+ years from the late 1950s to 2022, there have been many evolutions and revolutions in the space-age arts. The aesthetics inspired by the sky and space exploration have been assimilated into the design considerations. More examples are the installation and painting arts in the Soviet Union, flower installation art in Japan, painting art in Europe, painting and music arts in US, and installation art in Taiwan. It goes without saying that the aesthetics design considerations shall become more and more noticeable and emphasized in the scope of space development and exploration as well as the society arts in the future. This paper briefly studies the space-age installation, painting, embroidery and music arts in six countries and areas: Russia, Japan, US, Europe, China, United Kingdom and Taiwan. Although it is very difficult for the study to be extensive, it might be a kind of inspiration for further studies.
