摘要：

There are three electrical mechanisms identified that causes bearing damage. These includes electromagnetic induction, electrostatic electric discharge machining (EDM) coupled sources, and ground sources. The electrical bearing conditions in motors were identified using a field methodology. Mitigations actions are described and applied to two motor adjustable speed drive (ASD) applications sites. The test measurements were taken in determining the effectiveness of the mitigation action. The result showed that by reviewing the installation and application of the motor with voltage and current measurements with time and frequency analysis, it is indicated that both electrostatic and electromagnetic fields are induced within the motor.
