摘要
Reburning is a combustion modification technology that removes NOx from combustion products by using fuel as a reducing agent. The fundamental principle of reburning, that fuel fragments can react with NOx to form molecular nitrogen, was first demonstrated as a viable NOx control technique over twenty years ago. This control technique is particularly effective at controlling NOx emissions, and can generally be easily retrofit to utility or industrial boilers. A 70 t/h coal-fired cogeneration boiler was selected as the host site for the coal reburning technology demonstration in Taiwan. The results of this study showed that coal could be used as the reburning fuel to obtain up to 50% reduction in NOx emissions. The baseline tests conducted for this study established the baseline NOx level at 410ppm (6% O-2), meaning that the goal of this study was to reduce NOx emissions to 205 ppm (6% O-2) with no significant impact on boiler performance.
