摘要
The reader may decide at the end of this article which maxim is appropriate to the content: "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread," or "Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead." The authors will try to stay clear of the twin rocks of hubris or cowardice and suggest a straightforward descriptive and prescriptive summary of the characteristics, from their viewpoint and experience which are the essential features of an ideal therapist for patients with eating disorders. Basically, four areas are essential: A body of knowledge Certain personality qualities and attitudes Training in evidence-based, scientific psychotherapies Experience and constant review. This discussion is presented as a series of questions.
