We have simulated the time-dependent remanent coercivity of a perpendicular medium. The material parameters have been chosen to be consistent with the data from quasistatic magnetometry measurements on CoCrPt, and the pulse properties were obtained from stripline experiments. Our remanent coercivity results confirm the rise in coercivity at short times which had been found experimentally. We have also found a counterintuitive increase of coercive field with decreasing initial remanent magnetization-a partially switched sample requires a stronger reverse field for complete reversal.
