摘要
In modern society, people are living in the environment surrounded by illusion, the images produced by technology. The similarity between technology and literature in semiotic term provides a key point to trace the real function of technology nowadays. Originally, myth was created by philosophers to free people from the tyranny of social norms and public life. The creators of myths formulated their own laws as a way of challenging the neutralized nature perceived by the society. Subsequently, a myth is not simply a pure fantasy; rather it is a political subversion through which the truth of nature can be revealed. In this paper, I would like to argue how scientist replaces the position of philosopher, formulates their own system to using technology gains the social power and attempts to enlighten the modem society. The virtual reality created by modern technology is nothing but a modem myth, through which human reveal their essential being by creating an alternative world with reality.
