Effect of growth velocity on the growth temperature of the Al-AlxFe eutectic in Al-2.85Fe-0.12V alloy

摘要
The eutectics of Binary AL-rich Al-Fe alloys was investigated to study the effect of growth velocity on the growth temperature of the alloy. The growth temperatures were determined from the relative separations of thermocouple beads and the growth front on the longitudinal section. The results of the analysis suggested that the alloy eutectics were stable in the binary phase and could displace Al3Fe at increasing growth velocities or in the presence of sufficient levels of ternary additions.
