摘要
Ehrlichiosis is the term used historically to describe infection with any of several related, intracellular pathogens of animals and people. These pathogens have undergone taxonomic reclassification thanks to better molecular characterization, and some organisms previously classified as Ehrlichia are considered part of the genus Anaplasma or Neorickettsia. Disease presentation in dogs (and cats) is described for the relevant pathogens in each of these genera. Diagnostic evaluation (including pitfalls of current techniques) is described, as is recommended treatment of ehrlichiosis.
