Suppression of higher order modes in vertically coupled micro-ring resonators

摘要
we propose a new, scheme for monomode operation of micro-ring resonators utilizing vertical coupling. The scheme succeeds in suppressing higher order spatial modes by, selectively exciting the fundamental mode of the ring. This is achieved by properly varying the material and waveguide properties facilitated by the vertical geometry of the structure. (C) 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
