Experiments are conducted on aluminum plates containing fastener holes as well as aluminum plates containing a bolted joint. Cyclic mechanical loading is interrupted to perform structural health monitoring with the S0 fundamental Lamb wave mode. An array of surface bonded piezoelectric disk transducers having a pair of transducers at each of five bolt holes is employed. A correlation between the transmission coefficient and crack size is suggested by the data.
