摘要
J. D. Salinger's, autobiographical short story "The, Laughing Man", which was well-known in contemporary American literature has gained generations of readers: favor, despite the lack of deeper discussions by academics. With the approaches of narratology, this article analyses the complex: narrative structure and the, particular narrative perspective of this text to find, its narrative tension, which is brought by the binary opposition between juveniles and adults. The rewriting of children's subjectivity by the contemporary authors, including Salinger, reflects, the "Anti-growth" theme of American literature in the 20th century. Moreover, it may lead current readers to rethink the, children's objectivity and growth education through their personal experience as well as the, ethical value which is related to the contemporary spiritual lives.
