AWARENESS ON CASTING PROCEDURES AMONG DENTAL STUDENTS - A SURVEY

摘要：
Introduction: Casting is the process by which a wax pattern tooth is fabricated and converted to its metallic replica. Aim: To assess the awareness on casting procedures among dental students. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross sectional survey was conducted among 100 dental students through a self-administered questionnaire The responses were collected, tabulated in excel sheets and analyzed using SPSS software. Chi square test was used to analyze the level of awareness on casting procedures among dental students with statistical significance of P<0 .05. Results: According to the results, 86.14% of the participants are aware of casting procedures and 13.86% are not aware. The chi square test was done associating the different year of study with the awareness of the casting procedures and its techniques. Conclusion: This study concludes that the dental students are aware and having knowledge on casting procedures and the techniques used.
