摘要
Nano-sized powders of samarium oxide doped ceria, Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9, with particle size of 5-100nm were successfully prepared by a sol-gel process. Highly dense ceramics were obtained by sintering the powders at much lower temperatures (1400degreesC) than that normally required for the conventional ceramic technique. The electrical conductivity of sintered samples was measured systematically as a function of temperature between 240degreesC and 800degreesC by two-probe ac impedance technique. The effects of the calcination temperature on the sinterability and the electrical conductivity of the resultant ceramics were investigated.
