16 Finite element analysis (FEA) on high strength concrete filled high strength square steel tube (HSCFHSSST) stub columns under eccentric loading were conducted in this paper. The primary parameters of FEA models were steel yield strength (f(y)=460, 550, 690, 770, 890, 960 MPa), concrete compressive strength (f(cu)=60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110 MPa) and eccentricity (e=0.1W, 0.3W, 0.5W, 0.75W, W is width of the square section). From the analysis results, it is considered that the ultimate bearing capacity of stub column under eccentric loading increases with the increase of steel tube thickness, steel yield strength and concrete compressive strength, while it decreases with the increase 'eccentricity'. The yield situation in the compression zone and tension zone of mid-span of steel tube were analyzed The FEA results were also compared with CECS 28:2012, GB 50936-2014 and AISC codes to verify the suitability of the codes.
