With the development of industrial economy, as well as the fast progress of information technology, the world has entered the era of knowledge-intensive economy. At the agile manufacture time of individuation, small quantities, short period, quick delivery and zero inventory, it will become the key aspect of the enterprise's competitiveness to collect and exchange information, and to make fast responses and decisions. In this article, the author has elaborated on the developments of management information of the small-and-medium-sized garment enterprises, and analyzed the current problems in the management information system of garment business and their underlying reasons as well as its future trend of development. After conducting the investigation and research into some domestic small-and-medium-sized garment enterprises, the author analyzed the problems existing in their management of orders, procurement, inventory and factory materials, for example, the layout and planning of factory are unscientific, the cost of material flows is not calculated, and on-site management is in disorder. On the basis of the current production and material management system of the small-and-medium-sized garment enterprises in China, the author has proposed for scientific modes of material management with a view to improving the production process, optimizing the factory layout and balancing the production. Her proposals will be of great significance to realizing modern production and material management on the part of the small-and-medium-sized garment business.
