Children's perception of threat in interparental conflict: A German version of the Threat Scale from the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale

Children's perception of interparental conflict as threatening has been shown to have a negative impact on wellbeing and behavior in US-American studies. There is currently no adequate instrument for research on this topic in German-speaking countries. As part of a Swiss longitudinal study, a German version of the Threat scale from the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict Scale was tested with 192 children (age: M = 10.62, SD = .41). Reliability, construct, criterion, and incremental validity of the six-item scale were satisfying.
