摘要
This short note describes the synthesis of compound 6,6'-di-(2"-thiophenol)-2,2'-bipyridine from its methyl phenyl sulfane precursor via deprotection of the methyl groups. The product as well as the intermediate in the synthetic route have been characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, H-1- and C-13-NMR spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, and HR-MS analysis. This work presents a rare example of tetradentate chelators that bears pyridyl backbones and thiophenol donors for the coordination with 3d-transition metal cations.
