摘要
Federal investments in the Brazilian Amazon were greatly expanded from the 1950s onwards as a result of SPVEA initiatives, followed by Sudam in the 1960s. Subsequently, the Constitutional Financing Funds, from 1989 onwards, are taken as alternatives to investment in projects in the region. This article presents the distribution of the balance sheet of the Constitutional Fund for Financing of the North - FNO for the Amazon, from 2008 to 2020, focusing on the municipalities that make up the region of Carajas. The steps for this analysis involved carrying out a balance sheet of the investments made by the FNO in the Carajas region and identifying the segments to which the FNO's investments were directed in Carajas. The results show that the investments contributed to deepening the primary character of the economy of this region as they prioritized rural activities, with emphasis on cattle ranching.
